My guys seriously pushed the rokoko app a lot further than I thought we could. Running 6 devices on one network (2 running studio, 4 running iOS capture) recording 4 faces simultaneously. To be safe we didn't record longer than 15 minutes but we have some scenes with almost 30 minutes of recording in it. All in all we did about 220 ish minutes of facial mocap over 2 days of shooting/supervising.
The project was multiuse so we did not buy/use a Smartsuit Pro since the video portion needed to be clean so we are looking at cutting everything up and using Studio to rip the body rigs off the bodycams.
We have used mocap in the past to expedite animation but after using it in this long form format I might never touch a keyframe again haha.

It’s crucial that your method for capture be as unobtrusive as possible and not inconvenience the talent or voice director in any way. Rokoko is a really great tool for this, because you can setup your iPhone for capture well clear of the mike and record your takes on the other side of the booth, it is a perfect workflow.

Our mocap tools send their motion data to Rokoko Studio, from where you can record, export or stream the mocap data. Rokoko Studio is free to download and use on the basic features: recording and exporting of mocap data. Advanced features like real-time streaming to external 3D software with our plugin integrations require a “Plus” subscription (which is included in all our bundles for 1 year). Yes. For customs reasons, we are not able to ship Lithium power banks and WiFi routers, necessary to power and connect the Smartsuit Pro II and Smartgloves mocap tools to the Studio software. You likely already own such a powerbank and WiFi router, but if not here are battery recommendations and here are WiFi router recommendations.
